During fall quarter of 2019, members of LAST volunteered at Alexandria House’s bi-monthly thrift sale. Alexandria House is a local transitional residence and they provide safe, supportive housing for women and children in the process of moving from emergency shelter to economic stability and permanent housing. Their bi-monthly thrift sale was created to give clothing and furniture to women and children living in the shelter and it is also open to the LA community. This is the first time LAST has volunteered at Alexandria House, and we were responsible for organizing donated goods, childcare during the thrift sale, etc. We are looking forward to volunteering with Alexandria House again!
